Introduction
As a digital marketer, it is very important to be able to attract the customers at all points of time. Now doing that is easy on the basis of their buying pattern as well as choices but to send them cold messages at times when they might or might not be interested is a bit risky and can lead to churn. For this project, we take this as a challenge and consider location as one of the properties of a user as a trigger to be sent a promotional message.
What is Geofence?
A Geofence is an enclosed area in the most basic terms. A patch of land defined by a latitude, longitude and a radius.

How does a marketer use a Geofence?
A marketer uses the geofence tracking along with the capabilities of sending messages to push users to make purchases.
This is how it works -
Design
Based on the project brief, discussions with the product managers and the working of the solution, the key objectives of the app are following-
Information architecture
Since the geofence tracked can be used in journeys and campaigns, we decided to give it a more global placement and it was decided to keep it in the settings panel under engage, where all engagement related settings are configured.
Geofences CRUD page
The journey starts when the user clicks on Geofences on the left navigation under settings and lands on the geofences CRUD table. Here all the geofence clusters ever created in the account are listed along with their basic information.

Geofences creation flow
Clicking on the ' + geofence cluster ' button brings user to the geofence creation page .

Marketers can start by searching for a location or can click directly on the map to add a geofence.

The geofence gets added on the map at the location which the marketer selected or clicked. The settings for each geofence is also available at the same place as the creation is happening, hence it becomes easier for the user to navigate.

As and when the marketers keep adding geofences to the cluster, they keep populating on the left side in the table, where they can be selected and actions like bulk delete or bulk radius change can be taken.

For easy editing and to reduce the redundant tasks, we designed a bulk action called 'Change radius' where if needed the marketers can make all the geofences equal in radius to a certain distance of their choice.

Geofence cluster details page
After the marketers are done with creating the geofences, clicking on proceed takes them to the second and the final step in the process, which is to specify scheduling and DND details for the geofence cluster. Marketers are also able to see the total number of geofences created in the cluster along with the total area covered under all the geofences combined.

Scheduling
The marketers can select any date and time for the geofence cluster to be tracked.

DND Hours
Marketers can set DND hours during which no tracking will take place. These can be same for all the days of the week, different for different days as well as on some selected days only.

Future Scope
Geofence stats
The marketers would really be interested to look at a geofence level stats, which helps them to analyze which geofence is working good and whis is not. This would help them to take decisions on buying or leasing the next property.
